UFA. USAG is a member of United Fishermen of Alaska (UFA) and have a seat on its board of directors. UFA’s held its bi-yearly meeting in Petersburg last week. Alaska’s tight financial situation and how to work through it was a main topic throughout as we heard from speakers associated with Fish and Game, the Lt. Governor’s Office, University of Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Department of Revenue, Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Alaska Division of Economic Development, Senator Murkowski’s office, and Coast Guard, UFA still needs a new Executive Director.
